FAQ: The NAHSS programme

How time-consuming is participation in the NAHSS?

Keep in mind that you will spend 5-7 hours per week on the NAHSS. This includes preparation, conducting and processing interviews, literature research, and meetings with your project group.

Is it mandatory to attend all NAHSS activities?

Yes, it is mandatory to attend all activities, both during the preparatory phase and the summer program. Therefore, we recommend reviewing the timeline. If you cannot attend these mandatory activities, unfortunately, you cannot apply.

How is the NAHSS financed?

The NAHSS has four sources of funding, distinguishing between partners and students. Partners include companies, universities, and ministries (view our current partners here). The financial contribution from partners is roughly equal. Additionally, the NAHSS asks participants for a financial contribution for the summer programme.

Providing a financial contribution does not give a partner any influence over the content of the NAHSS program. The NAHSS operates independently and neutrally in this regard.
